I appreciate this post. I’m currently in a liminal space of letting go of the prestige seeking, overwork in my “career” so that I can spend more time with the creative work I truly value. It’s hard to stop giving precious art-making hours to the money-getting machine.
That is so relatable. I just took a new position at the day job that is starting to consume more of my writing time. But, I guard my weekends tightly so I still have time and I’m learning to love voice apps for recording the story so it’s that much easier to transcribe later. If you let it—the corporate machine will just eat you up. Keep creating!
